TILED ROOF SPECIALISTS
Contractors and building partners
Tiled roofing for contractors: agree interfaces, programme, material approvals and evidence for handover before the roof is opened.
Define the interfaces in the scope
Identify who is responsible for scaffolding, lifting, waste, temporary protection, timber repairs and interior finishes. Separate the roofer’s work from the window installer, insulation contractor and solar electrician. At party walls, dormers and extensions, agree a detail showing where each trade’s responsibility starts and ends. Record who can approve a change in material or additional work.
Plan from confirmed materials and access
Provide the roof survey, drawings, measured areas and proposed tile schedule. Confirm model, colour, accessories and delivery sequence before fixing the roof-opening date. Discuss working space, storage, occupied buildings and weather protection for each phase. If a product is unavailable, check the technical consequences of an alternative before it reaches the site.
Agree inspection hold points and handover
Useful checkpoints include repaired timber, insulation continuity, airtightness and underlay connections before subsequent layers hide them. Agree which photographs and product records the principal contractor needs. At handover, list completed areas, approved variations, remaining defects and responsibility for follow-up. Supply maintenance information and distinguish product warranties from the roofing workmanship agreement.
