Specify left and right clearly
State the viewing direction used for left and right in the roof plan and match it to the manufacturer’s drawing. The hanging edge and side interlock are not symmetrical. Turning a tile intended for the other side does not make it a compatible accessory.
The verge affects the width layout
Measure the roof width including the intended edge detail. Field tiles, part tiles and both verges determine the layout together. A broken-bond roof such as Horizon needs suitable end pieces in alternating rows. Check skirt depth, clearances and covering dimensions before final batten positioning.
Replacing a damaged verge tile
Record the brand, model, version, handing and any old product code. Similar colour or length is insufficient. Check fastenings and the timber edge underneath: a new tile will not repair loose or deteriorated support. Agree how the repaired verge joins the existing rows.
