Broken bond is an installation requirement
BMI requires Horizon tiles to be staggered rather than laid with vertically aligned joints. This relates to the tested resistance to rain penetration. Before ordering, establish how alternating rows finish at verges, roof windows and penetrations.
Comparing flat tiles
Compare Horizon with Tegalit by covering dimensions, bond and junction details as well as appearance. An existing flat tile may have a different interlock. The dimensions below refer to BMI’s Horizon Black Novo+ listing; the layout and underlay specification must suit the actual roof.
